Innovation and Development at the Pulse of Time

My understanding of the role as a strategy and organizational developer

I see myself as a service provider, who provides according to the needs and requirements of the customer

  • proposals for the methodological and organizational design of the process towards the achievement of the defined objective and its impact
  • discussion and decision support inputs (e.g. analysis, surveys and concepts) in order to reduce the stress of managers and experts. Furthermore, I support in the preparation of meetings and moderate workshops in order to support discussion and decision processes.
  • knowledge from state-of-the-art research and development projects, studies, education and training without breaking trust agreements with other customers and partners.
  • latest insights from management science (e.g. project management, agile organizational development & project management) in form of contributions, methods and techniques applied during the project work.
  • Furthermore, I act as a sparring partner for managers in order to prepare, make and implement decisions.

Focus on the Management of Intellectual Assets

In the age of knowledge and digitization society, Intellectual Assets (often falsely referred to as Intellectual Capital) are the central resource of individuals, companies, organizations, and societies.

The management and execution of the identification, application, protection as well as the continuous development of these assets according to the current and future challenges and the technical possibilities (keywords Industry 4.0, Big Data, Predictive Analysis, BlockChain etc.) became a central capability. This ability carries the future potential for economic success, social well-being and sustainable eco-social balance. While money makes many things possible, Intellectual Assets ensure concrete developments and results.

As a scientific manager of the EU-funded research project Plexus, I was able to work together with a European project team from 5 European countries on the development of a structure of intellectual assets and related monetary and non-monetary valuation approaches. On the basis of ISO 9004, a management approach was developed for this central asset.

In my appointments as consultant and program manager for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation at Miba AG, I was able to further develop the approaches, especially with regard to their quality and applicability. My last engagements for the Red Cross Upper Austria (crisis team in the context of the COVID pandemic) and the Volkskreditbank AG (Business Continuity Manager) allowed me to further develop my knowledge and skills with regard to operational and strategic prevention and emergency actions for the stability of central business processes.

Humans in the center

Central decisions for or against an option to act are mostly met by people, thank God. My projects are about people who believe in their company, their products and services, their organization or their region. They want to actively contribute to their future success. In collaborative development projects contributions, interests, competencies and commitment are bundled and transformed into innovative and viable solutions. Communication, integration and cooperation has to be done accordingly.

It is all about "living systems"

For me, companies, organizations, products, but also regions are "living systems" that are confronted with dynamic environments (such as stakeholder interests, technology or legal development) and therefore need to continually evolve to survive and succeed. According to the "Viable-System-Approach" of Prof. Stafford Beer, all systems have 5 central functions - Identity, Strategic Management, Operational Management & Audit, Controlling, Implementation - which have to be constantly implemented, checked and further developed. In my opinion, this approach is ideally suited for companies, products and services as well as regions.
